This is hell and since the late 1990s you and I we have learned together from countless

indigenous activists throughout the Americas that colonialism never really ended.

The indigenous still live on land that has been invaded, occupied, settled, and colonized by

outsiders, and that colonial nature of their existence as subjects and not citizens is a daily part of first people's lives.

Now the colonization of the colonialism of Africa that began with the Berlin Conference of 1884 and

1885 when the seven European imperial powers Britain, Belgium, France, Germany,

Italy, Portugal, and Spain divvied up which power got what part of continental Africa.

Well, that colonialism, that never ended either.

Following centuries of a slave trade that created a global diaspora that tearing apart process was exacerbated by the outcome of the Berlin Conference

even after the Second World War in what is called post-colonialism that colonialism never ended either with many in the former African colonies

becoming subjects again not citizens in governments that mirrored their

former imperial predecessors.

The whole process leaves a feeling of
