Venezuela in the imagination of the United States is a nation that is governed

by a corrupt president who is the heir to a socialist experiment that has become a nightmare

for the Venezuelan people leading to deprivations, disease, and death.

The only thing that seems to be more unpopular than the current government and its leader,

President Nicholas Maduro, seems to be the opposition.

Seemingly the only people supporting the opposition

and their supposed leader,

Juan Guido, are outsiders like the U.S. and the Biden administration,

which continues to recognize

Guido as president despite Guido never getting a vote and after serving his

term no longer being an elected official in any capacity.
