Hello and welcome to another episode of the Mark Groves podcast.

I'm excited to talk to you about something a little different this week, something that has been sort of top of mind that I've wanted to explore.

And I'm going to explore in a deeper level as well, you know, not with just this podcast

episode, but in further ones.

And it first sort of came to me when I was doing a TEDx talk about three or four years

ago, which was an incredible experience.

I got to tell you, because it took, I'm so used to

like long-form conversation or long-form expression, but I had to fit sort of my thesis or my,

what I thought would most benefit people into an 18-minute talk. So if you've never watched

saw another really incredible talk that was on ethical fashion and like where you invest your money

is really where you invest in your values and and in your beliefs like we're so privileged really to

get a garment and not think about all the people that have interacted in that garment and how they've been treated.

And, you know, when we think about big brands that have been under fire for these things.

And also, if you, I think it's under, on podcast, I think it's on a show called Broken, but there's a numerous, there's numerous

shows and documentaries that are about how we're just such throwaway culture with things. Like,

we get something, we use it. It doesn't, it's not meant to last long. And so we just buy a new

shirt or a new thing. And this is very much true of, you know,

different brands like H&M, Zara, like they're low-cost pieces of fashion.

And with fashion trends changing all the time, you don't really think about.

There's just a massive level of consumption that goes into that.

Recently, my gosh, it feels like recently, but it now feels like a lifetime ago.
