Summary

In the current state of the world there is so much information coming at us, but our opinions and perspectives are not safe to share. They are dividing us and inflicting hatred amongst our peers and within our community. Why are we not able to to recognize that two truths can exist at the same time? Right now, it is more important than ever to be having hard conversations with love, and being open to other peoples perspectives, and meeting them where they are at.  Can you be open to the possibility that what you think right now isn't true? ~ Discover: Covid, censorship, taking sides and gaslighting How to dance in the middle and see both sides When you're open to the way you see the world, you're free Observing the liberties you give away Media and highjacking for fear and your attention Trusting yourself and yourself The space between reaction and response is where we have a choice Why we need to stop shaming each other for questioning Holding space for ourselves and each other in middle of information warfare Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands

Hello and welcome to another episode of the Mark Gross podcast. I've been thinking about the

0:13.0

subject of community and belonging and connection. I think we're always all thinking about

0:20.4

human connection, about our own

0:21.8

relationships and families and systems. And I really wonder about what it means to be in a community

0:28.9

that is safe, that has a space of psychological safety to have different views and different ways

0:35.2

of seeing the world. And I think given our current circumstances,

0:40.4

I honestly don't think that world really exists. To have differing opinions is to, you know,

0:47.5

0:56.4

you know, that all of a sudden now you're on a right or a left wing based on a view that you

1:00.4

have. And if you identify as any sort of political view, then it's been sort of co-opted by

1:08.8

extremes. It's hard to have a safe conversation anymore. And, you know, been sort of co-opted by extremes.

1:13.4

It's hard to have a safe conversation anymore. And, you know, the sort of underlying definition of a healthy corporate culture is

1:19.2

psychological safety, safety to be oneself, safety to express.

1:24.3

You know, I have a lot of questions about what's going on right now where we are being taught that

1:31.0

other people are a weapon that they are unsafe to be around and i think there's been a lot of

1:37.9

misuse of information and a lot of over a lot of exaggeration of fear and the exploitation of fear. And that conversation

1:48.2

is really hard to have safely because I question are the choices we're making worse than what

1:55.6

we're trying to prevent? And I hope you're all questioning that. If you're not questioning that,

2:00.8

I'm like, are you awake?

2:02.0

Are you paying attention? Do you give a shit about the mental health of humanity about what we stand for?

2:09.2

That's the question. Why can't we question those things? Why can't we? And often the response is you don't care about human life.
