Summary

We all say we want support. But are we really ready to receive it?

In this episode, Heather sits down with Dr. Ashley Blackington to talk about the invisible load modern women carry, especially those who are caregiving, leading, and over-functioning in every area of life. From burnout to decision fatigue, this conversation unpacks what it actually looks like to take your power back in emotionally uncomfortable ways.

Here's what you'll hear:

🩶Why emotionally intelligent communication is a required life skill
🩶How martyrdom culture keeps women stuck in burnout cycles
🩶The mindset shift that helped Ashley reclaim her time, energy, and identity

If you're tired of carrying the mental load and ready to lead your life differently, this conversation is for you.

About Ashley

Dr. Ashley Blackington (OTD, OTR/L) is the Founder & CEO of Dovetail®- a family CRM to help family caregivers manage the logistics of care. Dovetail® was inspired by her time as a clinician and seeing the impact on family caregivers trying to navigate care without tools to simplify the process.

She was recently named Aurora Tech Awards Top 120 Global Female Founders to Watch in 2024. She is also the host of the AND/BOTH podcast (available wherever you get your podcasts), a show featuring conversations with moms honoring themselves as individuals alongside motherhood.

She is a mom of four, lover of hot coffee, and is working on her forthcoming book examining the intersection of generational trauma, feminism, and personal accountability. You can read more of her work on her Substack.
