Thursday June 20th. Tropical Storm Alberto has made landfall in Mexico,

killing three children and kicking off what's expected to be a hyperactive hurricane season.

Strong winds from the storm are bringing coastal flooding to Louisiana and South Texas.

A storm surge of 3.5 feet was reported in Corpus Christi this morning.

Floodwaters swarmed some cities along the Gulf Coast, despite tropical storm warnings

being discontinued in Texas.

Meanwhile, wildfires are still raging in New Mexico and

California. This man spoke to CNN affiliate K-O-A-T and says his father was one of the

two people killed by powerful blazes in Ruadoso, New Mexico.

It's heartbreaking to know that he didn't make it,

to know that he was trying to run for his life, trying to get away from the fire.

A thunderstorm near the area triggered dangerous flash flooding yesterday.

And if you live in the Midwest or Northeast, you'll know all about the scorching heat

that's causing power outages and ER visits. Experts are clear that the climate crisis

is making this extreme weather worse or more common and yet

2023 was a record year for fossil fuel emissions.
