We have obviously had a significant amount of injuries and burns from patients trying to

escape the fire.

Four massive, life-threatening fires are destroying homes as they burn across Los Angeles

County, forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate.

The biggest being the out-of-control Palisades fire.

And officials are warning it's expected to rise dramatically in size.

Earlier, it was already said to be blazing through about five football fields of land every minute.

And firefighters are warning that tornado-like winds were making their work even harder.

At a Pasadena care home, workers raced to evacuate elderly residents with a blaze just a block away.

It's tough. It's tough. They can't get up. They're stuck on the wheelchairs.

We've got to lift them up, put them in the vans, and then take the wheelchers at the same time.

So you've got to get everybody out of here.

Meanwhile, people desperate to get out of harm's way have been forced to abandon their cars

between Malibu and Santa Monica, forcing fire officials to use bulldozers to clear the way.
