Thursday July 11th. Democrats are anxious to see what unfolds with President

Joe Biden's re-election campaign as more people call for him to drop out of the race.

Vermont Senator Peter Welch became the first Democratic senator to publicly say Biden should step aside.

In a Washington Post op-ed, Welch said he was making the plea,

quote, for the good of the country.

He called Biden's debate performance, disastrous.

Several House Democrats and mega donor George Clooney

have also called on the president to drop out.

Last night, Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer

weighed in on concerns about his

cognitive capacity. So you think that he should take a cognitive test? I don't think it

would hurt. Certainly the first presidential debate was was not a great success for President Biden.

But he is the happy war.

He shows up every day and fights for the American public.

Biden is scheduled to give a press conference later today to wrap up the NATO summit in DC.

The stakes will be high.

It's his first solo press conference since his debate performance that set these doubts in motion.

Last month, prices in the US did something we haven't seen since the early days of the pandemic.

They fell.

The latest data shows the consumer price index was down 0.1% in June

compared to May.
