Hi from CNN, I'm Madeline Thompson with the five things you need to know for Thursday July 11th.

The US has imposed sanctions on an Israeli extremist organization, three Israeli individuals, and four outposts connected

to violence in the West Bank.

According to the State Department, members of the extremist organization called LaHava

have, quote,

engaged in repeated acts of violence against Palestinians,

often targeting sensitive or volatile areas.

It's the latest use of an executive order issued

by President Joe Biden in early February amid

increased settler violence in the region.

Meanwhile Israeli defense minister Joav Galant has said in a statement that the

U.S. is sending munitions to Israel in the coming days. That's amid fresh evacuation. that's of thousands of people. CNN's Jeremy Diamond has the latest.

The Palestinian population in Gaza is being squeezed into a smaller and smaller part of the Gaza

strip with very little where to go in terms of a safe place. a like running water for example and also just basic humanitarian resources but the

Israeli military now says that Gaza City is an active combat zone they say

they've opened two roads up for safe passage towards what the Israeli military has described

as a safer humanitarian zone.

The US and Germany thwarted a Russian assassination plot earlier this year, targeting the CEO of a German arms

manufacturer that's been sending weapons to Ukraine.

Five US and Western officials familiar with the plans said US intelligence discovered a plot to kill German

arms executive Armin Papager but that German security services were able to

protect him and foil the plot. The sources said this failed assassination plan was part of a larger sabotage
