These are some of the many issues President Joe Biden touched upon in his speech before the

United Nations General Assembly in New York today.

He made a forceful call for UN countries to stand up to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

We have to stand up to this naked aggression today and deter other would be aggressors tomorrow.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zolinski is expected to speak later today and meet with

Biden and congressional leaders in Washington on Thursday.

Climate change will be high on the agenda in New York today.

While on the other side of the world, people are still dealing with the fallout from its impact. Protests have erupted a week after catastrophic flooding hit Libya, with hundreds of

locals in the eastern city of Derna calling for leaders to be removed because many

think its devastating impact could have been avoided.

Experts have already said that a lack of warnings and crumbling infrastructure are partly to blame

for the number of deaths, as well as the human-caused climate crisis.

And in a new analysis out today,

scientists say that crisis made the rainfall

that led to thousands of deaths there much worse.
