And today's guest is Beth Kormel.

She's a practicing clinician who specializes in acute care medical speech pathology.

She's been employed by UNC Rex Health Care in Rolling North Carolina since 1995.

During her time at UNC Rex, Beth has worked in outpatient, subacute, and acute care.

She now focuses our practice exclusively in acute care, primarily covering the heart and vascular hospital.

She has always gravitated towards critical care and continues to prefer working in the ICU.

In addition to her work at UNC Rex, Beth trains clinicians in the use of fees.

Since 1998, she has been instrumental in training therapists and implementing new fees programs throughout the country and internationally.

She has also presented short courses on fees implementation at Asha

and the North Carolina Speech Language Hearing Association

and has taught webinars focusing on medical speech pathology.

She's been an SLP for over 27 years after graduating from UNC at Chapel Hill.

And just a quick note that this will be our last episode of 2019.

We'll be taking a two-week hiatus for the holiday season.
