Hi this is Steve. On October 25th 1978 an independent film with a budget of $300,000

0:08.0

opened at the AMC Empire Theater in Kansas City, Missouri to a very small crowd.

0:14.8

Now needless to say the producers were disappointed, but the next night, despite the lack of

0:19.0

press and a minimal marketing budget, four times as many people showed up. Audiences doubled again the next night, and the night after that.

0:28.0

So if you haven't seen this groundbreaking film, I highly recommend a visit to our website cinephiles.net, that's Cinee-F-I-L-E-S-D-N-N-E-N-N-E-S-N-N-E-S-N-N-E-S-N-N-E-T, where you can stream or buy Halloween along with every other film we've ever reviewed. So, that's John Carpenter's Halloween this Friday on the cinnophiles where each week we enter the world of a great film.
