| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. In this episode I want to share |
| 0:16.0 | with us a really big secret to happiness. But if we're able in this episode to |
| 0:21.2 | understand this secret, it's going to have a transformational power on our lives. |
| 0:27.0 | And I'm calling it a secret because very few people |
| 0:30.0 | actually get this and live this way, because we're taught the exact opposite. |
| 0:35.1 | What do I mean? Well beginning at a very young age and throughout our lives we're |
| 0:40.6 | taught that if we want to find happiness then we have to have certain |
| 0:44.7 | things happen. Call them goals, call them achievements, call them events that happen |
| 0:49.5 | in our lives. But when we have these events happen, then we'll find happiness. And we find them externally. |

| 1:05.4 | friends and media and television and radio and podcasts and all these external events |

| 1:15.1 | for Hanukkah then I'm going to be happy things are going to be great so we get all |
| 1:19.7 | excited for those presents and when those holidays come we are excited for a little bit of time but the problem |
| 1:26.7 | with it is it doesn't last we don't find permanent happiness we find thrills we find |
| 1:32.1 | exciting things but we're not permanently happy. |
| 1:35.0 | As a matter of fact, we can be shocked by how quickly young kids after they get their |
| 1:40.8 | presence, get over it. I mean, they don't even care. |
| 1:44.0 | It can be waiting for six months for something. |
| 1:46.6 | They get it and five, ten minutes later, they don't even care about the present anymore. |
