Hey everybody, welcome to Tangentially Speaking. I'm Chris coming at you from Portland, Oregon.

And I'm just back from a week in Los Angeles where it was sunny and warm and wonderful.

When we got to Portland everybody said the key, the secret to making it through a winter up here

in the gray dark north is to spend a week in February someplace sunny.

So Cassie and I went down to LA and hung out with my family and saw some friends and recorded some podcasts.

I was on with Rogan yesterday, which was a lot of fun.

In fact, I'm going to be seeing Joe tonight. He's in Portland playing this weekend, so that'll be cool.

I recorded my own podcast with two guys who have been on before.

Three guys actually who have been on the show before. Renegade historian, Thad Russell.

Fantastic, as always, very smart guy coming at things from his own unique angle.

I also was able to sit down with my buddy Chris James, who you may remember from an earlier episode.

which I won't say anything else about to not ruin the surprise for you, but that was very, very touching and interesting.
