| 0:00.0 | What's going on, fan? Welcome to Freestyle Friday. Let's jump into it. Oh, we got some brand new videos over on YouTube and Instagram and Facebook. Make sure you go check those out at Swolormus everywhere. Thanks for subscribing. And don't forget to check out SwelormusX.com for the latest and the greatest. The latest and the greatest. You can check out the blog, apparel, all that stuff and more. I'll be making some big announcements in the next couple days, some new shit to grab. So go check that out. And, you know, hit me up. You got any questions? Just say, hey, say, what up, Papa. I'll be like, what up? And then that'll be it. But if you have a question, please make sure that you check out the Instagram stories and respond when I post those question stickers because that is where I pick up these questions of the day. Today's question of the day |
| 0:43.3 | is from Who Day Zach? And he asks, Papa Solio, you said that you don't like doing deadlifts on |
| 0:48.8 | leg or back day. Can you elaborate? I'm not sure what you are referring to. |
| 0:55.7 | That's taken out of context. |
| 1:00.9 | I usually don't do deadlifts on leg day, but I have, and I would if I want to. |
| 1:08.5 | And I usually do them on a back day or a day where I'm not going hard and focusing on other areas with compound movements. |
| 1:11.4 | I don't like doing squats and deadlifts and RDLs. I don't like doing and overloading any area of the body specifically in terms of |
| 1:16.7 | like a hip hinge. So for example, if I'm doing legs and I do heavy barbell squats and I do |
| 1:23.2 | RDLs, I'm not going to do deadlifts too. I'm not there's nowhere. There's nowhere to fit it in. You can't just do these |
| 1:28.5 | fucking heavy overloaded compound exercise one after the other after the other on the same day |
| 1:33.7 | and think you're going to get results or think that you're going to get performance out of them. |
| 1:37.9 | I don't want to risk my deadlifts by doing squats or RDLs first. And I'm certainly not going to do |
| 1:44.1 | heavy deadlifts and then go into squats and RDLs because that I'm fatigued before I go into those movements. So depending on the volume, depending on my split from week to week, sometimes I'll go in and be like, cool, let me do deadlifts today and other things. So you could have a deadlift day. You can have a separate day or if you want to do it on your leg day because it's not really a leg workout, it's total body. So you can do it on a leg day. Just make sure that you focus on that first and then maybe you're doing other accessory or mobility type exercises around that because depending on your split, it might just be too much. And the last thing you |
| 2:17.6 | want to do is weaken some key stabilizers and then get hurt later on in your workout. So you |
| 2:24.0 | want to make sure you err on the side of caution. And really, even though you want to go balls deep |
| 2:28.3 | and you want to go fucking handbone Jones in the gym, if you err on the side of caution, you are |
| 2:32.7 | going to survive and do better long |
| 2:36.0 | term because long term you get results. And if you want to get results long term, you better |
| 2:41.1 | stay fucking healthy. So make good decisions. Great question. Thanks for asking it. And make sure |
| 2:45.5 | that you follow me on Instagram and my Instagram story to respond to those question stickers. |
| 2:49.9 | That way you can be featured here. |
| 2:51.8 | And I will be answering your questions and stuff in other content that I create. |
