Welcome to Radical Personal Finance. My name is Joshua Sheets. And today I'm going to continue the series of I've changed everything. And today I'm going to share with you all about buying a business. I have recently purchased a business. And I want to share about that journey. I want to share some of the lessons that I have learned. And I want to share why I have done that. And I think this will be something

that will resonate with many people, because I'll share with you about the financial

planning aspects of it. I'll share with you about my vision and my experience of it, and I will

share with you how and why radical personal finance has been an integral part of the whole journey. In the previous

episode in this series, I shared with you how I have reset my life, starting with my philosophy.

Told you about the philosophical changes that I have made, the decisions that I have adjusted,

and now I want to tell you about the practical changes that I have

made. And we're going to begin with the fact that I bought a business. But before I tell you about

the business, I want to back up and give you a little bit of background and insight into the

decision-making process over the last couple of years towards this end. For me, the last few years have been a significant time of transition.

There have been a number of points in my own life that have been aiming at this period in life.

Those points range from finishing a thousand episodes of Radical Personal Finance, which was a

commitment that I made to myself and to my

audience early on. I finished my 10-year anniversary with Radical Personal Finance. I celebrated my

40th birthday, and that's a big milestone. A lot of introspection related to that. My oldest child

is approaching his teenage years. And so as he approaches that

point in time, my parenting needs to change and is changing due to that important milestone.

I've achieved a series of personal goals that I've set, some financial goals and a variety of

different things that I have set. And so over the past couple of years, I've engaged, some financial goals, and a variety of different things that I have set.

And so over the past couple of years, I've engaged in a lot of thinking, planning, and introspection. What's gone well? What do I like about the life that I live? And what would I

like to be different? Now, a core part of that planning and introspection has, of course,
