Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. Today is Monday, November 25th, 2019.

And we begin with an emotional few moments in a Minnesota classroom.

12-year-old Jonathan Jones is severely colorblind,

which means he can't see vibrant shades of blues,

reds, or orange.

Everything he says is just kind of dull.

His classmates were learning about the

disorder when their principal who is also colorblind brought in special

glasses that allow wearers who otherwise can't to see almost the entire

rainbow of color.

Jonathan's first reaction was surprise and that his emotions took over.

Never before had he seen the hues most of us take for granted.

The principal let him borrow the glasses until his parents

could buy him a pair of his own. Within days a go-fund me page with a goal of $350

soared past $17,000. Jonathan's mom says the balance of the money will go to a foundation

that will purchase glasses for anyone else who can't afford them.

It's a holiday tradition for politicians.

Over the weekend, Vice President Mike Pence and his wife

made a super secret trip to Iraq to visit U.S. troops.

The second lady served up candy dams, while Mr. Pence served up the bird and the following message.

For all the things we are grateful for this week, we are most thankful for all of you serving in the uniform of the United States. The al-Assad base is in Western Iraq

which means the men and women stationed there are at least 6,000 miles from their families.
