The Top Music Award show has been criticized for focusing on older rock stars

and ignoring up-and-coming talent. Well, not this year. The latest crop of nominees are young and diverse.

Getting the most nods this year is Lizzo, a new pop and R&B star,

nominated for eight prizes, right behind her with six nominations each are 20-year-old

Little Nas X and 17-year-old Billy Elish, who is the youngest person ever to be nominated

in all four top categories.

Ariana Grande received five nods and ten-time winner Taylor Swift received three

but only one in a major category. The awards ceremony will be held January 26 in Los Angeles.

Speaking of awards, a new series of medals

was recently handed out in Washington, D.C. honoring service and sacrifice performed by animals.

The animals in war and peace metals of bravery were distributed to five dogs, two pigeons, and a horse. The only two living recipients were both
