Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. Today is Thursday, November 8, 2018, and we begin with Jeff Sessions out as the United States Attorney General.

He submitted his resignation yesterday after being asked to do so by President Trump.

Sessions-Ouster was sudden, but not a surprise.

The President had hinted at cleaning house as soon as the midterms were over.

Matthew Whitaker, previously Mr. Sessions' chief of staff,

will become acting attorney general until a permanent replacement is named.

And while all of the ballots have been cast in the 2018 midterms, some races remain too close to call.

Votes are still being counted in the hotly contested Georgia's Governor's race, as well as the Arizona and Florida

Senate races. Some congressional seats are still up in the air as well, results of

which could add to the record-breaking number of women heading to our nation's capital.

As it is, more than 100 women will take their seats when the new Congress convenes in January,

up from the current number of 84. I am affectionate, intelligent, and sweet and I can run at

A Florida ballot measure that passed on Tuesday will shut down the state's 11 dog racing tracks by the end of 2020.

As a result, between 5,000 and 7,000 greyhounds will need to find new homes.
