Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. Today is Wednesday, November 7th, 2018, and we begin with the most expensive midterm election in history ending in a dramatic split decision. The Democrats took

back control of the House of Representatives for the first time in eight years

while Republicans increased their majority in the Senate.

What does it all mean?

A divided Congress with the House,

led by Democrats, and the Senate, led by Republicans,

will make it harder for President Trump

to get legislation passed going forward.

Voter turnout was expected to be high and it didn't disappoint.

Although final numbers aren't yet in, analysts believe this election drew more people to the

polls than any midterm in the last 52 years.

A new theory from Harvard is really out there.

University researchers think they finally know what zipped through our solar

system last year. It was cigar shaped, dark red, and moved at 196,000 miles an hour.

Scientists quickly named it Umoua,

but were stumped as to what it was.

Harvard's new eyebrow-raising explanation?

An alien space probe.

According to their paper,

Omoa mua may be a quote,

fully operational probe intentionally sent to Earth's vicinity

by an alien civilization.
