And I have another cool interview for you guys today, a little background first.

So when you're in Kona, everyone sort of becomes family.

You're in this together, whether you're racing, it's spectating, volunteering, whatever

it may be.

And in many cases, that also includes the people that you end up staying with.

This week, I was actually lucky enough to share Kona with several folks, most of whom

I'd be meeting for the first time.

We had a sports medicine doctor who was volunteering, a coach who had an athlete racing, one of

my friends who's raced Kona twice, and last but not least, a pro triathlete who was

racing Kona for the first time, and that actually brings me to today's show.

That pro who raced is Pedro Gomez, and he ended up having a stellar first showing in

Kona finishing 26.

So today, the day after the race, I sat down with Pedro to talk about his experience,

what he did to get to Kona this year, his nutrition, race strategy, thoughts on hanging

out in Kona, and much more, enjoy the show.
