Aretha was really a singer, not an actress, but her performance in John Landis's 1980 hit comedy, The Blues Brothers, is absolutely electrifying. In fact, all the musical performances in the Blues Brothers, from Ray Charles and John Lee Hooker to Cab Calloway, James Brown, and of course,

the Blues Brothers themselves are incredible.

This is a comedy unlike any other.

Combining the great comedic chops of Belushi and Acroyd with ridiculous car chases, big explosions, great choreography, and a must-owned soundtrack.

Now I hadn't seen the Blues Brothers in a long time when I sat down to watch it yesterday and I got to say I was surprised at just how good it really is.
