I am blessed to have with me Pastor Anthony J. Carter,

who is a graduate of the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida.

He is the pastor of East Point Church in East Point, which he'll correct me, I assume, is a suburb of Atlanta.

And he is the author of several books, Blood work, Black and reformed, what is the gospel? And the purpose of

this interview is to talk to him about his latest book entitled Running from Mercy, Jonah, and the

surprising story of God's unstoppable grace. Now, brethren, I will concede up front that I have an agenda. I am

currently preaching through the book of Jonah. And this is one of the books that I am reading

as I am studying from week to week. And just the opening chapters over the past weeks have been a rich blessing to me and so I

reached out to Pastor Carter and asked if he'd be willing to come and chat with us about A on

one hand the book and its themes related to Jonah and on the other hand the practice and process of preaching the book of Jonah. Thank you for joining me, Anthony. Well, thank you, H.B. Brothers, good to be with you, man, and good to see you again. I hadn't seen about a year or so. We were together, I think it was. And so it's good to see you

again, man. And thanks for having me on your podcast, man. Yeah, thanks for, thanks for joining us.

So for a person listening who may not know you, would you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Yeah, you know, I'm born and raised in Michigan, but re-raised down in the south in Atlanta.

I've been here in Atlanta longer than I was in Michigan, so all my children are, you know, born down here.

And so we firmly planted our roots down here in the Atlanta area.

Been pastoring for quite a while, planted East Point Church in 2008. And the Lord's been particularly gracious to us, you know, ever since, man.

You said the East Point was a suburb of Atlanta. It's just outside of Atlanta,

but it doesn't feel like a suburb at all. It is very much Atlanta in every possible possible way.
