Hi, this is Wayne Callan for Attitude magazine. Today's topic, Sex Love and ADHD,

what teens should know is a challenge that all teens and their parents will have to

face eventually. As many experts say, sex is fun when you treat it responsibly. While

this is tricky for anyone, ADHD inhibits your ability to focus on what is most important in a situation and to choose the correct action to take.

We have with us today West Crenshaw

to help us navigate this minefield.

West is a Kansas City Metro Psychologist

and author of, I always want to be where I'm not,

successful living with AEDD. and ADHD. His newest book, Consent

Based Sex, will be out this fall or winter. West will talk about the challenges of intimacy, sexual and emotional, for teens

and young adults, and he will address the role that parents may be able to play in all of this.

Then he'll take your questions. So Wes I turn it over to you. Hope you can give us some

pointers on this tough topic. I can give so many pointers that we could be here for five or six hours.

So I recently began to realize I've worked with teenagers for many, many years since really

the start of my career back way back in 1994 and over the

course of that time from very early on and increasingly so in recent years I've realized that if you are going to talk to teenagers about anything, you have to be able to talk to them about sexuality.

That is true for all teenagers because really kind of the point of adolescence for teens is organizing your sexuality and I've believed that for the duration of my career.

That has become infinitely more true in the last five to ten years and at

this point young people's generations aren't really literal generations.

They are like four-year generations.
