0:00.0 | Welcome to Nancy Wilson's Feminine Podcast, presented by Canon Press. |
0:05.0 | Welcome to the Feminine Podcast. This is Nancy Wilson. Thank you so much for joining me today. |
0:19.0 | My title today is one of our family sains that Doug mentioned recently somewhere. |
0:25.0 | And that is, baskets of fruit are heavy. And at some point or other in our family life, we were going through some kind of heavy time. |
0:35.0 | And my son wisely told me, he said, Mom, baskets of fruit are heavy. And it was very helpful at the time, though I can't remember the occasion. |
0:45.0 | But it continues to be one of our family sains. So it has many applications. The short form is this. |
0:53.0 | When God blesses a family or a church or a school or a ministry with fruit, there are immediate consequences. |
1:03.0 | The burden increases. For example, our church here in Moscow is going through a period of tremendous and sudden growth. |
1:12.0 | And this is obviously a good thing. It's fruit. But managing the growth is a heavy burden for our pastors and elders and deacons. |
1:21.0 | And the security team and the secretaries and the setup crew, et cetera. |
1:27.0 | Their low did not lighten when God blessed us with a ton of fruit. Oh, no, it increased greatly. |
1:34.0 | They have far more responsibilities, more needs, more problems, more messes. And this is good. This is the way God wants it to work. |
1:43.0 | And there are plenty more illustrations of this examples from your own lives that you can apply this and just it's a perspective. |
1:53.0 | It's a way of thinking about your blessings when they're heavy. Maybe just maybe you inherited great wealth or a huge house or you got a big promotion or your husband got a big promotion. |
2:09.0 | That's fruit. That's a blessing. But it's very, very heavy. It comes with great responsibility and much work to manage it all in a way that brings glory to God. |
2:20.0 | And a failure to steward it faithfully will turn it into a curse instead of a blessing. So when you pray for blessings, prepare yourself. |
2:30.0 | Don't daydream about how wonderful it would be if only dot, dot, dot, you inherited great wealth or you had a large family and so forth and so on. |
2:43.0 | If you could only get a big house, you know, the truth is those kinds of things are very difficult to steward and to manage and require great wisdom. |
2:54.0 | And so prepare yourself. If you're responsibly ambitious and you're trying to steward your life now in a fruitful way, then you'll budget for the increased load. |
3:07.0 | When God answers your prayers for more fruit, you will have prepared yourself. So you're not surprised and you're not crushed by the extra load by the great burden that blessings can be. |
3:20.0 | We'll consider marriage marriage is a tremendous blessing. And if you want a fruitful marriage, you must be prepared to work hard to carry all the weight of those blessings, all the weight of that fruit. |
3:34.0 | So as you're praying for a husband, then start lifting weights now to prepare for it because later you're going to need that muscle. |
