In this episode, I want to talk about restarting your public ministry.

Restarting your public ministry.

Some of what I will share may feel like it's a little outside the lines of what we usually

discuss in terms of preaching

faithfully, clearly, and better. But all of us have had to re-evaluate our preaching plan,

preaching schedule, and preaching practices in the midst of COVID-19 and our inability to meet together as local

churches for public worship. Here at the Shiloh Church where I serve in Jacksonville, Florida,

we've had basically two priorities. I have had pastorally two concerns that swallow up everything else.

I've been concerned, first of all, with feeding the congregation. I have used whatever means

of technology, whatever platforms we have via the World Wide Web and social media to feed our congregation the Word of God and to point

them to the scriptures for hope, strength, and wisdom.

Secondly, my concern has not only been feeding the congregation, but checking on our members.

Our elders and deacons are going through the process of calling every member on our membership list for our church.

That's quite a few numbers.

And unfortunately, we discovered in the midst of this process that some of our membership contact

info was not correct.

So it's been a pretty intensive and extensive work.

But it's a part of the shepherding task that I'm grateful we are getting done.

And now there is a third factor, beyond those two of feeding the congregation and checking
