Hi this is Steve. Something amazing happened when we recorded our episode on James L

Brooks' 1987 film Broadcast News, but in order to explain what it was I first

have to tell you about our very special guest.

This week, the Cinnophiles is absolutely thrilled to welcome host of KCRW's The Business and

Hollywood Reporters Editor-at-Large, Kim Masters. Kim is an award-winning journalist whose work has been seen in the Washington Post, Time, Esquire, and Vanity Fair.

And when we asked which movie she would like to break down on the cinephiles, she didn't hesitate.

Because when it comes to broadcast news, Kim doesn't just love the Holly Hunter character.

She says that she is the Holly Hunter character. which is crazy because when I watch the movie

with my wife, she must have stopped the film at least a dozen times to say, oh my God, you are

Albert Brooks. And as for Roca, well you guessed it, he's always related to William Hurt.

The result, when it came time to record the episode, each of us represented one side and

what has to be one of the greatest love triangles ever put on film.
