Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Mormon Stories podcast. I'm your host

John DeLin. It's November 12th, 2018 and I could not be more excited as always for today's

interview. Today we have assembled a distinguished panel of Native Americans who were raised

Mormon and we are here to talk about their experiences. Now some of you are going to be familiar

with the Losing the Laminites series that we did on Mormon Stories podcast a year or two ago,

where we had several people that would have been characterized as Laminites talk about their

experiences and their stories. Today we're going to be taking a slightly different angle.

Today we're going to be featuring a book that came out in the past few months. The book is called

Decolonizing Mormonism. It is edited by Gina Colvin, Dr. Gina Colvin who runs a thoughtful

faith podcast here for the Open Stories Foundation and Joanna Brooks who was one of the original

chairmen of the Board of Directors of the Open Stories Foundation back in 2011-2012. They put

together a really important interesting book called Decolonizing Mormonism. In that really

amazing book, in chapter 3 is an essay by Angela Baca who is returning to Mormon Stories podcast.
