Adam Gettichu is Neubauer family assistant professor of political science and the college at the University of Chicago.

She's a political theorist with research interests in the history of political thought, theories of race and empire, and post-colonial theory.

We chatted about her excellent book, World Making After Empire, The Rise and Fall fall of self-determination in episode 47.

Bronco is a Jacobin staff writer and the author of Yesterday's Man, The Case Against Joe Biden.

So as of 11.30pm, UK time, on the 4th of November, we still don't know for certain who will be the next

president of the United States. It looks, given the way the mail-in ballots are skewing towards

Biden, that it's very likely that he will win the presidency at this point, and the networks

are now calling Michigan for the Democrats. However, the Republicans are calling for a recount in Wisconsin,

which Biden looks to have won by less than one percentage point, and predictably Donald Trump

is crying foul and threatening to take the election result to the court. But before we get into

the details of the results so far, I just wanted to ask how your election nights were, and to what extent your
