And in today's episode, I want to talk to you about and in fact really warn you about these people who are out there right now on the interweb and everywhere who are now being identified as spiritual narcissists.

So how this term even came into my brain was through a colleague of mine.

Her name is Dr Perpetua Neo who writes a lot about narcissism.

I've had her as a guest on my show and she said hey I'm doing an article do you want to give me a quote about spiritual narcissism

Now being a psychotherapist I could sort of figure out what it was but I said well I said no I won't give you a cold on it because I'm really not an expert on it, let's see.

But then I did a bunch of research and I realized that I had actually been writing about this exact thing, not necessarily identifying it as narcissism until Dr. Neo brought it up to me this way.

So let's talk about who are the spiritual narcissists and why does it matter that you stay away from them

Right so who they are these are spiritual teachers and leaders who feel like they have it all figured out, right?

Who think that what they think spiritually is more valid than what you think and they're really interested in

putting you down for the way that you think. I had a client talk to me a

bunch of years ago about someone that she was going to see.

This is when I was living between LA and New York and this person was in LA.

And she was talking to me about going to this, it was sort of like a chiropractic type of thing, but it was really like energy work and all these other things supposedly.

And she was working with someone who was most definitely a spiritual narcissist and it was like this person was trying to use their power

over my client to guilt them. They were actually afraid of their healer and if they complained and said that if my

client said you know they they weren't really seeing any results, that healer would go off and completely
