They start with um, ah, and er

These are vocal tics used when unsure what to say next

But they can make you sound hesitant

You can sound hesitant

But I think it's all context

Um, you're about to lie

Another word, hey man, what's the name of that guy down the hall? I don't remember. And I feel like everyone does that and it's such a natural. And one thing they found with the us and ums, almost no matter what language you speak, that's the sound you make when you're trying to connect your two thoughts. Yeah, sure. Some people repeat the questions. You can click every kill time.

One thing that I have found, especially working here, is that that's how a handful of people

kind of alert whoever it is that they're talking to that they're not done telling their story.

They're not done finishing their thought.
