Ohio police have released body camera video of the fatal police shooting of a pregnant 21 year old woman accused of shoplifting at a grocery store in a Columbus suburb last week.

To Blenden Township officers confronted Tachia Young in her car,

repeatedly urging her to exit the vehicle.

Video shows one of the officers standing in front of the car with his left hand on the

hood, gun drawn. The car begins to move forward slowly when the officer fires

through the windshield. Young was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Her

unborn child did not survive. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is

looking into the shooting and the Attorney General's

office says the probe could take quote several weeks or months.

The findings will be shared with the county prosecutor who will make a decision on whether

to pursue charges.

An attorney representing Young's family says the video shows the young woman's death was

quote, not only avoidable but also a gross misuse of power and authority.

The police chief described the incident as a tragedy.

He maintains the officers were victims of assault and is withholding their names.

Fall is just a few weeks away, but parts of the US are set to see scorching summer temperatures this Labor Day weekend.
