All right, so guys, last week we talked about Saul's military and moral failures

and how the author of Samuel wants to contrast those to his son

Jonathan's holy heroics. We also talked about how Saul makes the rash vow, much like Jeptha,

which puts his son Jonathan's life in jeopardy, but the people step in and they save him.

So in 1st Samuel 13 and 14, which we talked about last week,

the seeds for the Lord's rejection of Saul were sown.

And today we're going to talk about 1 Samuel 15 and 16.

And we're going to see that that rejection really comes to full fruition here in this passage.
