So chapter 9, verse 10, or does he say it all together for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope,

and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. If we have sown spiritual things for you,

is it a great thing if we reap your

material things? If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more? Right. So he just

sort of makes the application specific, right? It sounds almost like he's arguing that they should

start doing this.

Well, he is coming for a visit, but no, that's not his point.

That's not his point.

But if anybody asks why priests get paid by churches, this is why.

Right?

This is why.

And strictly speaking, and this is important for properly understanding the priesthood.

Being a priest is not a job.

Right?

And that's not the way St. Paul talks about it here. right? Because you notice the jobs he points to as

examples have to do with farming and things. It's not jobs like where you have an employer

and you receive wages, right? That's not the example. The examples he uses. Priests don't have a job.

The church supports them so that they don't have to have a job.
