I welcome my colleague Peter Berkowitz of the Hoover Institution,

writing his column for Real Clear Politics on a senator and a senator's book. This is seven things you can't say about China.

The senator is important here because everything of these last years about China is all tied up with the American attitude about itself. This is not independent. This is not

foreign policy as we understand it. This is a new kind of policy. This is the culture of the United States crashing against the culture of China, trying to

understand each other.

At the same time, the U.S. is held to an accounting that China is not.

We're not a dictatorship.

China is.

We're transparent.

China is not.
