Director of Secure Free Society, is traveling on the South American continent and will rejoin

us next week. Right now, however, we have a good opportunity to focus on a meeting in

these next hours. The Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization. I go to Reuters' report.

Eight Amazon Rainforest Nations face divisions over proposals about oil drilling, deforestation

and the environment in general. This is the first summit in 14 years. The countries

are critical to understand here. Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guiana, Peru, Cernam,

Venezuela. Those eight countries will send representatives or attend with their leadership

in the northern Brazilian city of Bellum, which Ernesto tells me is the Portuguese Bethlehem,

very promising, quiet iconic and yet at the same time, just reading through that list

of eight nations. I see trouble. One failed state, a state in turmoil and Peru. The question

of Ecuador is a pending election with much violence across the landscape because of

drugs. And then Colombia, they're a melodrama involving Gustavo Petro and his son. However,

the Amazon doesn't wait and the meeting is upon us. Ernesto, a very good evening to you.

The first meeting in 14 years of this group. And I identify this is ambitious. Amazon

is a troubled part of all of South America and all these nations touch upon it. Your time

in office, how was this organization regarded given that it was not meeting? Good evening

I think John, so the actual or officially the organization of the Amazon Corporation

treaty, it sounds good, right? It's an organization devoted to cooperation around the Amazon.
