Geopolitics, culture, trade, war fighting. I welcome Yakub Gurgiel, a professor of politics at the

Catholic University of America, visiting fellow at Stanford University's Hoover

Institution, a senior advisor at the Marathon Initiative,

former member of the State Department's Policy Planning Staff,

Riding with his colleague Wes Mitchell, of principle at the Marathon Initiative

about what is to be done in these next years

with regard to Europe.

There's a war there that has very much created conditions of dissent throughout the European Union and NATO.

The United States is on board for now, however there are large questions being raised by candidacy for the presidency, and I expect

candidates for the Congress as well as to what is our obligation to Europe, why the flow of arms

to Ukraine, why the involvement with NATO facing up against Russia.

What I learned from your essay is Europe first,

Europe first.

And we have reasons for that, but I'm sentimental enough to know that in the Christmas of 1941,

when Churchill raced to the White House to sit with FDR for the first of four times they were at the White House together.

They decided along with their chiefs of staff and their what were considered the commanding

generals of both armies.

Europe first, Pacific second.

We're not going to split our forces.
