I welcome Bill Rajo, my good colleague.

He is a senior fellow for the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.

He keeps the Long War Journal reporting on what we know so far,

fog of war, of what is reported to be an exchange of gunfire between India and Pakistan over a

massacre in Kashmir these last days. Bill has filed us a story from the previous effort by Lashkar-Aiba to sow dissent in

India and demonstrate a murder raid, reaching back to 2008. And it's important to note this

because this is Lashkari Taiba, although it's present, I understand, is presenting itself as the

resistance front. However, Bill, a very good evening to you. The Mumbai Raid 2008. Please give a

Good evening, John. Yes, it goes way back now.

This is one of the attacks that I always feared could happen here in a Western country,

particularly here in the United States in November 2008, Lashkari Taiba,

which is a Pakistani state-sponsored terrorist organization with allegiance or with, that is allied with al-Qaeda to this day.

It sent teams, two-man teams with suicide vests and grenades and assault rifles, and they fanned out across the city of Mumbai.

They shut the city down for over three days, launched attacks.

There was a Jewish center, a train station, a theater, and other businesses.

It just was, you know, to me, what I would call a suicide assault.

Their goal was to kill as many people as possible and to destroy any in all confidence

with from of Indian security forces.

It was the attack, it was masterminded in Pakistan.
