This is Handel on the Law, Marginal Legal Advice, where I tell you you have no case.

You've heard the term ethically sourced products.

In other words, consumer products in which people are involved in growing or picking or producing,

and they have to be ethically sourced.

That's sort of the mantra today, which means that the companies who sell you the product, American

companies, have to make sure that who's ever in this case picking coffee is doing it without

child labor or paying a reasonable amount of money for labor, yada, yada.

And the number one, I think number one culprit, as far as consumers concerned, is coffee.

And Starbucks.

Starbucks is being sued by a consumer advocacy group saying that Starbucks falsely and deceptively advertises that it is committed to 100%

ethical sourcing on coffee and tea products.

So here's a lawsuit.

The National Consumers League says the Starbucks misrepresents that it is committed, even as it continues to source coffee beans

and tea leaves from cooperatives and farms that have, quote, committed, documented, severe

human rights and labor abuses, including the use of child labor and forced labor, as well as rampant and egregious sexual harassment assault.
