Emotional Dependency (Subconscious)- When a person has excessive or extreme hope and desire to have things or people bring them emotional comfort and stability because they feel hopeless or unable to give themselves the type of comfort or stability wanted. Often the person believes or expects that other people or things have to act or behave in a manner that will reassure them that they are worth something because their true sense of SELF is not present or has not been trained to reassure themselves and recognize that they have significant self-worth.
Emotional Independence (Conscious)- When a person is free from feeling responsible to be the caretaker for other people's emotions and actions to maintain a relationship with others. Also, when a person is not relying upon others or things to rescue them from emotional distress to feel capable of handling difficult situations. Emotionally Independent people can allow others to explore and exercise their freedom without giving in to the excessive desire to rescue others from potentially harmful decisions or situations.
