The child needed to be airlifted last Friday night to a hospital in

Anchorage, but the pilot of the Life Med flight couldn't land safely in the remote location

because the runway lights at the local airstrip weren't working.

So word quickly spread and in the middle of the night about 20 members of the tight-knit tribal community,

dashed over in their cars and all-terrain vehicles and pointed their

headlights at the runway to enable the pilot to safely touch down. The story has a

happy ending. The girl who required advanced medical care was treated and has already been released from the hospital.

The Life Met Alaska Service posted on Facebook, this was a great example of what an amazing community can do with a lot of determination.
