Volkswagen's new ID3 Fire and Ice is a tribute to the Gulf Fire and Ice, a model that achieved cult status with some enthusiasts in the 1990s.

According to Volkswagen's head of design, Andreas Mint, with the ID3 GTX Fire and Ice, they are emphasizing how highly emotional the top sporty model is.

This is interesting, isn't it? The VW are kind of at the stage of their electric vehicle evolution,

where they feel like they can spread their wings a little bit

and do these special editions.

I'll tell you why I like it.

I've said this a million times in this podcast,

if you knew you haven't heard this speech before.

Because when things like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rimmats, GoEV, when things like this Volkswagen produce a limited run, maybe even just a few of these special editions, gets an outsized amount of attention.

So the motoring press will go crazy over the first electric Ferrari when it arrives, maybe next year.
