We'll start with the news today about Rivian's battery pack, which is halfway between their previous

large pack and the max pack. It's called Large Plus, and it's on the new second gen of their

vehicles, which has been a thing this year. There's been a bit of a software problem because

people have been charging them way past 100%. It turns out that maybe there's a little problem with the software

and effectively they get to use it as a max pack. Now they've been driving the vehicle for over 30 miles

and it's just stayed at 100%. So Rivian say, yep, it's a calibration problem. There'll be an

update coming. But for now, and I would recommend that you do the update,

get the battery pack that you paid for.

It is a software-locked max pack in the large plus vehicles.

So you saved some money, but for now you are effectively getting to use all of your max-pack battery.

I thought it was very interesting.

Tesla, full self-driving is going to be launching in Europe and China by the beginning

of early next year. Elon Musk previously said at the end of this year. That's now been put back

a bit. Really? I mean, regulatory approval is going to be a very slow process, at least in Europe,

maybe a bit quicker in China, depending on stuff. I think even next year is enormously optimistic.

But of course, with their big robotaxi announcement around the corner, they are talking up

autonomy and saying, yeah, we're going to be self-driving in Europe and China soon as well.
