VW are spreading their wings a little bit in terms of special edition stuff.

The VWI ID3 GTX is now getting a fire and ice treatment, which revives certain cult status with some enthusiasts of the 1990s Volkswagen Golfs with the fire and ice

branding and all sorts of funky paint on this and cool alloys, but you can't really get away

for the fact it's built on an ID3 GTX which isn't setting the world a light, sorry VW, but it's

very, very, very good. And I love,

I love that they're doing these kind of special little projects that get loads of media

attention and website coverage and stuff, even though this is a one-off. I love the fact that

they've got that, that capacity to move into these special editions. So I guess watch this

space as VW might do more of that.

BMW Group has been investing heavily in electric drive technology. Their plant in Austria,

which I think was announced a couple of years ago, is now finished and ready to begin

pre-production of their sixth generation components. So I'm talking about electric motors,

rotors, status, gearboxes, inverters, of course,

and those will end up in the Neuer class of vehicles, which as BMW's next generation vehicles.

Now, pre-production just started in Austria, and they will work their way towards production

to 600,000 drive units per year,

which is a really big deal and a big step in these vehicles, which we'll get next year,

these new class of vehicles, and I'm quietly very, very confident in how good they're going to be.

Now, can the Chinese really challenge in high-performance electric sedans and saloons. Well, Link and Co,
