we begin with a 16-year-old Mississippi teen achieving hero status during his summer vacation.

Korean Evans jumped into the Pascagula River when he saw a car drive off a boat launch

and into the water. Korean helped three of the passengers make it to shore and also rescued

a responding police officer who swallowed too much water when one of the victims started

to panic. The mayor of Moss Point praised Korean for his bravery, and when giving him

a certificate of commendation said, we are proud of this young man for having the courage

to forget about himself and jump into the water. It's not often enough that you see people

put others above themselves. Baseball records are made to be broken, and so it seems

are the astronomical amounts shelled out for baseball cards. The latest example, a T206

Honus Wagner card, released between 1909 and 1911, that commanded $7.25 million at an auction

last week, making it the most expensive card ever sold. The card, believed to be one of

only 50-60 in existence, is prized not only for its rarity, but for its artistic qualities

as well. In fact, this particular card is considered to be the Mona Lisa of baseball

cards. Wagner, nicknamed the Flying Dutchman, was a Hall of Fame shortstop and winner of

eight batting titles who played in the majors from 1897 to 1917.

If there's ever been a night to make a case for staying up past your bedtime, tonight

maybe it. The American Meteor Society is predicting as many as 60 to 100 meteors per hour

will streak through the night sky as the Perseid Meteor shower reaches its peak. Thanks

to clear conditions, stargazers on the west coast, in the central plains, and the Great Lakes
