This is Handel on the Law, Marginal Legal Advice, where I tell you you have absolutely no case.

Something really strange that I've never heard of, which makes sense, is coming out of Florida.

The Parkland, you remember the shooting in 2018, the Parkland Massacre at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School,

where you had the former student, Nicholas Cruz, go in there and shoot up.

The school went into a classroom, killed all the kids, and then killed kids in another

classroom.

17, dead, including a teacher, 17 wounded, some of them very grievously.

And the cop showed up, and if you remember, it was over an hour that Nicholas Cruz was in

the classroom. And as the police were rushing, the police were called,

there were kids inside describing what was happening,

and the police did not storm the classroom for over an hour.

And clearly, there probably would have been survivors of those 17 kids.

Some of them probably, we don't know for certain, would have survived.

All right, one of the cops that was first up from the sheriff's office,

a guy by the name of Peterson.

And he was actually charged with, it wasn't going to be any kind of murder it was it what it was was child neglect felony child neglect and uh some other charges of which he was acquitted by the way

Scott Peterson he was acquitted of those charges. Now, however,

there is a lawsuit, a civil lawsuit that went as going against him as well as, of course,

the school department, the school board, and here's what they're doing.

His defense was that he didn't know where the shots were coming from.

That he, the reason he didn't storm the classroom is that he was protecting himself behind a column,

and he couldn't hear at all where the shots were coming from
