Hi everybody, it's Joe Lample, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner

Well, it's getting to be about that time when many of us will be pouring through those

seed catalogs that you know what I'm talking about.

They flood our mailbox and suck us in for a lustful diversion of dreams of having that best

garden of our lives this coming spring.

And while it's easy to get seduced by the gorgeous pictures and the clever copywriting,

have you ever really given much thought to the seed company itself?

Like questions such as where the seed really comes from and how has it grown and who

grew it?

And are those people and the company they work for thinking beyond just producing a commodity

product?

And does any of this really even matter?

Well, yes, it does, as you're about to learn.

But I'll admit, you know, in those early years, I was the guy that was the sucker for the

marketing.

And for the most part, that's still how many seed companies market their seeds today because

it works.
