Hi, everybody. I'm Audrey Moore with Audrey Health Actors and this is episode number 72. What you're going to do with your acting career for self-tape May.

0:14.0

How is your self-tape practice going? Oh my god, I am dying for all of your pins and button pins. They are so great. One of my favorite standouts is an actress who had a unicorn cat pin.

0:28.0

And she said, this is meogical. I was just like, I love people. I love it. I love your pins. I love your broches. I love seeing them. It brings me such joy. And I'm so proud of you. If you are getting any done, if you've started at all, you are so cool. And if you haven't started and you're like,

0:49.0

do it, just do it. Just do it. Just do like five. Just get started. I'm going to do 16, but mostly I'm just going to start. I'm going to start the self-tape practice. We are auditioning for the rest of our lives. You have to love and be good at the audition process. You just have to be. It is a professional requirement. And all of the good acting class work that you do is great. But at the end of the day, you have to audition and book jobs.

1:18.0

So do it. Practice. I still haven't seen any Star Trek. You guys, I haven't seen any Star Trek. If you do a Star Trek, you got to really tag me and make sure that I know that it's Star Trek. And everybody else, you're like, Audrey, did you see the Star Trek one? Because I'm about that Star Trek life.

Okay, today's episode, we have our lean schuster of ASG casting. And she also has a teaching studio that is a group of women that she knows and trusts who teach the commercial side of things over at camera left stage, right? That's camera left stage, right?

1:57.0

I love the women that teach there, like not for nothing. If anyone's going to teach you how to have a six figure income off of commercials, they teach, they have decades of experience in terms of what's hot, what's happening now. And if you're going to take commercial classes, I have to say, I'm such a big fan of like advertising changes so fast.

2:20.0

You have to study with people that are in it now, who know what the trends are now. And that's what's so great about working at a studio that is connected at all to a casting office because they really do know what's going on. And some of the teachers are session runners and session runners really see what you're doing in the room that is just majorly bombing and what you're doing in the room that's really successful.

2:45.0

Here are the conversations that the client and the directors are having once everyone's done the things that are like popping and the things that don't work and even the things that are out of trend or out of style.

2:56.0

So this is such an incredible conversation. ASG casting has had an amazing presence on social media since the pandemic. Our lean has been just like such a goddess and so generous with her time energy information.

3:12.0

As I've said to her, you can really tell when somebody is an actor advocate, a lot of people, I think are just like, let me put something up for actors. And I don't feel like their intentions are great.

3:25.0

And Arlene is just loves actors. She is so passionate about us and so generous and wants us all to win. And that's my experience with casting directors. I have to say like they are rooting for us so much.

3:40.0

And Arlene is just at the top of that pyramid in terms of just really being a fierce actor advocate and actor cheerleader.

3:49.0

This episode is brought to you by Brad Greenquist. That's Brad Greenquist, bradsclass.com. I know so many people who study with Brad to tremendous success.
