Okay, a lawsuit against Twitter. What a shocker that one is.

Ever since Elon Musk bought Twitter, it has been what I'm going to say is a nightmare for him.

He paid $44 billion for a company that's worth about,

or was worth about $25 billion, almost twice as much as it was worth. It's almost like a point

of purchase sale. You go to the supermarket and you see all those crazy tabloid newspapers

and the gums and the, all uh the uh all the the various mints uh that you see

there on on the counter and just buy one just uh you go right there it's called point of purchase

and i think that's the same thing that happened to Elon Musk he just woke up one morning

and it goes yeah i think i'll buy Twitter morning. So in any case, there is a lawsuit because a bunch of

ex-employees are saying that they are owed in total $500 million in severance. That they were

promised severance pay when he laid everybody out off

Courtney McMillan who oversaw the employee benefits program at Twitter who was laid off

and was known as head of total rewards that was the benefits program she filed the proposed clax action

lawsuit and claims that under a severance plan that Twitter had created in

2019 most workers were promised two months of their base pay plus one week of pay for every year they worked in the event they were laid off.

So the lawsuit says that Twitter only gave laid off workers at most one month of severance pay, and many did not receive anything at all. They did not get the severance pay that they were

promised. And if you remember, after Musk bought the company last October, Twitter laid off

more than half of its workforce as a cost-cutting measure and Twitter is just falling apart

effectively. Maybe I'm being a little bit, I'm overreacting

a little bit, exaggerating a bit. But then you have the new Google thread that's going forward.
