This lawsuit is right up my alley, and this is an L.A. County lawsuit that was filed that has since settled, so it never even went to trial.

This is a woman and her husband filing a lawsuit against an in vitro lab, a laboratory that creates embryos for couples and then implants.

Then the doctor, of course, implants the embryo into a woman or a surrogate and creates a baby.

So the lawsuit was filed against the fertility clinic and the doctor, and the allegation is the mom where the embryo was implanted, her embryo and her husband.

They in fact put the wrong embryo into her body and the child is not theirs.

She actually carried a stranger's child, which happens.

It's happened, I don't know how many times, probably half a dozen times that I can remember over the course of my 30 years doing a third-party reproduction.

And at this point, we don't know what the settlement was for but I'm assuming it was pretty substantial the lawyers

for the doctor disputed that he was at all responsible the lawyer says there's no credible

allegation that Dr. Moore was the where the embryo he transferred to the woman had been mislabeled or mixed up and was not her embryo.

So according to the doctor's lawyers, he's not at fault because he had no idea.

It's only the lab that is at fault because they screwed up.

Well, unfortunately, Dr. Moore owns the lab.

So how does he get out of it?

And the argument is he's personally responsible and was malpracticing.

In other words, he was guilty of malpractice as well as the lab.

And in case, it went to trial, everybody settled up.

And the couple switched babies to the couple, the other couple where their embryo went in.

It was almost like, you know, you've seen those spy movies where they cross the bridge in East and West Germany.

It was almost like that.

Baby switch.

Couples got their own baby.
